M. SCHWARTZ, M.D.
Alan M. Schwartz,
M.D. is one of Rose Radiology Center’s Medical Directors.
Dr. Schwartz is board certified by the American Board of Radiology
and is skilled in all aspects of diagnostic radiology to include
MRI, CT scanning, ultrasound, mammography and interventional radiology.
Dr. Schwartz
completed his undergraduate training at Tufts University in Massachusetts
and graduated after only three years. He subsequently completed
his medical school training at Tufts University School of Medicine
where he graduated in the top 10% of his medical class as part of
the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
He later completed
his internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Following his internship, he completed a diagnostic radiology residency
at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Following his
residency training, he was asked to remain on staff at Tufts University
School of Medicine and Tufts New England Medical Center where he
served as Assistant Professor as well as Associate Professor of
Radiology. During that time, he conducted research and has published
numerous articles in the field of radiology. He has at least 25
major publications in reputable radiology journals. He has lectured
and given presentations in the field of radiology throughout the
country, and has been a guest lecturer at many major medical meetings.
During Dr.
Schwartz's time as an academic radiologist, he was appointed to
the position of Orthopedic Radiologist as well as Pediatric Radiologist,
because of his extensive knowledge in these fields.
After approximately
10 years in academic radiology, he then joined the staff at Morton
Hospital in Massachusetts, where he served for four years as Chief
of the Radiology department. In addition, during this time, he served
as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve.
Dr. Schwartz
is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American
College of Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, as
well as the Society for Pediatric Radiology. Since moving to Florida,
he has become a member of the Florida Radiological Society as well
as the Pinellas County Medical Society. His goal is to provide accurate
and complete professional radiology services to include special
procedures in the outpatient setting. He strives for outstanding,
cost-efficient, timely and personalized service and encourages communication
with referring physicians.
