ROSE
RADIOLOGY ANNOUNCES 2ND "STAND-UP" MRI SITE
PALM
HARBOR, FLORIDA, May 20, 2002 - Rose Radiology Centers, Inc. announced
today that it has signed a contract with FONAR Corporation for a
2nd "Standup" MRI unit to be installed at a site in Brandon
before the end of this year.
Dr.
Manuel S. Rose, President & Medical Director of Rose Radiology
said, "We are seeing numerous cases where pathology is seen
only in the sitting or standing position. With the success of our
1st installation here in Palm Harbor, ordering and installing a
2nd machine makes perfect sense. Physicians who are currently referring
patients to us have already required us to extend our hours of operation.
We had planned to open another facility, the increased demand has
moved up our timetable. I believe it's time to provide access to
this unique technology to physicians in other parts of the Tampa
Bay Area."
"We
are already building a substantial portfolio of patient cases where
significant pathology has been discovered when the patient is placed
in a weight bearing position. These findings are the primary reason
why we installed the FONAR MRI in the first place."
The
FONAR "Indomitable" is the only MRI in the country capable
of imaging patients in multiple positions, including sitting, standing,
flexion or extension and recumbent. This technology is critical
in imaging patients in their position of pain or discomfort. |
