INVENTOR
OF MRI TO ATTEND OPEN HOUSE
PALM
HARBOR, FL. - February 4, 2002 - Rose Radiology Centers, Inc. (RRC),
the home of Florida's 1st Stand-Up, "High-Field" Open
MRI, announced that it will hold its first Open House on Thursday,
February 21, 2002 at The Imaging Center at Boot Ranch, 4133 Woodlands
Parkway, Palm Harbor.
The
Open House will run from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. The evening will
feature tours of the Imaging Centers' more than 8,000 square feet
of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment.
Raymond
Damadian, M.D., inventor of the MRI, is scheduled to attend the
Open House which will show-case the latest in MRI equipment from
his corporation, FONAR. This MRI, named "Indomitable"
is the first MRI in the world capable of securing images of patients
in a seated or standing position.
"We
are quickly accumulating cases whose symptoms could not be diagnosed
until they were scanned upright. Once diagnosed, those patients
were successfully treated surgically with marked relief of their
symptoms," said Dr. Damadian.
With
nothing over the patient's head or in front of their face, the Stand-up
MRI's unique design is by far the most non-claustrophobic
MRI on the market. Patients have found the Stand- up MRI reassuring
and easy to accommodate. Operating at 0.6 Tesla, making it among
the most powerful Open MRI's available today, the Stand- up MRI
boasts an unbeatable combination of resolution, contrast and speed. |
